How To Properly Clean A Casement Window
If you have a casement window then one of the things you are probably wondering is how you clean it the right way. The first thing you need to know about a casement window is the frame is very important and it is critical that every time you clean the window you also clean the frame. What most people do with their windows is they will clean the glass itself but they totally disregard the frame and any outer material of the glass itself. Do yourself and the window a huge favor and make sure you clean the entire thing every time. Otherwise you may need to replace your casement frame sooner rather than later.
The first thing you have to do is clean the glass. The reason you clean the glass first is because the dirt will most likely drop down into the frame so it would be rather pointless to clean the frame first and then the glass just to come back and clean the frame a second time. Once you have cleaned the glass using a good glass cleaner you will want to start on the outer frame and work your way into the bottom of it.
When you are cleaning the frame itself you want to use water and some soap to make sure it is clean but what you do not want to do is leave any water or soap on the hinges or crank because when this happens the metal will weaken and after a while it will eventually break. Casement windows are very easy to clean and the more you can keep them clean the longer they will last and the better they will look. When it comes to casement windows too many people think they are just like any other window but because of the fact that they have more hardware and moving parts you need to keep a closer eye on them.
